I'm about to start casting using a pot and dipper.  What do you all suggest for a burner?  Propane?  I tried an electric hotplate, but it doesn't generate enough heat.  I got my mould from Paul Jones.  Thanks folks.

I have used the old standard Coleman stove.  I also have a Coleman one-burner, that come with a gray plastic case and it melts lead just dandy.

I use a double burner Coleman propane camp stove - one burner.

Two days a go, I cast up a couple of batches of bullets, one pistol, one rifle. Using two moulds (a simul-cast?) alternately, the lead has a chance to cool and I never get 'feathers' from an overheated mould. I'm indebted to Mike Venturino for the idea.

One of the Lee or Lyman electric dipper pots would do everything you need done.
