The ol' Steinway was a bit out of sorts so I had the piano tuna in today...

I can't believe how much they charge these days!

Gotta be something fishy somewheres  ;D

BJD,

Back in the days when I use to plunk around on the ivory's, it cost about $15 an hour to have one tuned back then.  I will assume because you did not post a value, that the prices have risen considerably and you needed to take out a second mortgage! ;) :D

It shore sounds like you got hooked for too much, Chum.  If it's much over a hundred bucks I couldn't stand the gaff.  I would quickly become a sinker.

Maybe you should have put out a few more lines and cast about for a better catch.  You might have netted a savings on the gig.  Sounds like your town may not be big enough to give you a selection, so you might be up the creek without a paddle.  You need to lure a couple more experts to town.  Do some trolling and see what you can dredge up.

If you already had it tuna-ed, you might try a few scales to get your fingerlings back in shape.  I'd give a fin to hear you play, but That would likely be a fluke.  Getting me out of here anymore is a real upstream swim, even to go visit family, but that's telling tails out of school.

People like me are the reason people like you have the right to bitch about people like me.

Four-Eyed Buck

We've got a pard here, BJD, that tunes'em fer a living. Rye Miles outta Euclid. He'd probably do ya right, but the travel expenses would probably kill you. Oh, yeah, he shoots Colts.......Buck 8) ::) :o ;)
I might be slow, but I'm mostly accurate.....

El Peludo

I don't know wha the tarriff was for your tuneup, BJD, but if you think about the level of skill, and compare:  flat rate shop time is about $75.00/hour, now, and just about any skilled trade, at scale, gets somewhere in the area of $25 to $50 - yeah, things are a bit pricey, these days.

Cute, 40  ;D

You know, my grandmother, Hazel, was a whale of a player-- made JoAnne Castle from the old Lawrence Welk show look like a piker...
But I just flounder around on the keyboard for the halibut.  ;)

BJ (I'm lucky I can play my stereo!) D

YOU CAN PLAY A STEREO??????  :o :o :o

Oooooooooooooo!!  Teach me.  Teach me.

My wife took my round away from me because I played it too much.  I was playing a round in the car, at the store, while she was doing dishes, when folks came to visit, and in church.

She told me I played a round too much and she took it away.  :( :( :(

Now I'm just like a fish out of water.
