New to the forum, was referred here by a fellow Spencer shooter. Just recently got the "Spencer" bug after an re-enactment at Selma, Alabama where a number were formed into a special company of repeaters (Spencers and Henry's). Hope to learn from all of you as I'm an old muzzleloader cavalryman.

Welcome to the forum, Rusty. Lots of good information and good people here. Selma sounds like a fun re-enactment. I'd like to make it down there someday.

Thanks Caleb, I appreciate it. From what I've already seen this is THE place for Spencer information! Learned a great deal from just reading post that others have made.

Selma is a nice little event, well planned and conducted with a lot of local support. It's on our company list each year and we all enjoy it. There are permanent works in place that are on part of the original battlefield and the works are upgraded each year. Another nice point is the cabin that is rebuilt each year to be burned during the Sunday battle. We had the honor of being the "arsonist" this year after the rebel lady fired a few shots at us. So, we burned her out!

I would imagine the big one will be 2015 which will be the 150th.

Looking forward to a long association with the board and members.
