Hate to double post, Dalton, but I keep coming back to this thread to take another gander at the pieces you posted here.
Can't say how much I like them -- and they grow on me a bit more each time I have another look.

So Dalton, this incised carving, that's just swivel knife work? It looks sharp. (No pun intended) I assume the Washington design is yours. I guess I need to take another look at some of Will's pattenrs because I seem to remember that he has some designs like that in some of his holster patterns.

Once again real nice work. JD

JD there is an insised "Washigton" holster in Packing Iron, don't have the energy to dig the book out but it's torwads the beginning.

Yes JD. That is just unbeveled swivel knife work with very simplistic designs. Ideally, there would be some tearaway of the leather for width and such. I tried a freehand groover for that, but mine is simply not sharp enough for the detail work.

The Washington pattern is right out of Packing Iron, but I left off a bit of carving at the toe, and it should have a silver cap. I left room for the someday that I might add the silver cap to it. The holster pattern itself is Will's Jesse James holster. Nice pattern if you dont have it.

The 1849 holster carving is from the Collins holster I posted. I had to recreate some of that as it is not very visible towards the bottom. I just used the bottom half of the pattern for the 49 holster.
