I found this in the description of a USFA for sale on GunBroker # 254144744 .

"this revolver is a true work of art, it is American craftsmanship at its finest. The revolver is made at the Colt Old Armory, the box plainly says so. again, the gun was made at the old colf factory, by the old colt machines, by the former colt employes. when USFA bought the plant they bought it with everything in it, machines, tools, workers, everyting."

Where do these folks come from?

No wonder rumors start.

Anybody checked out the new show on Discovery Channel called American Guns. It is nothing more than Pawn Stars with guns instead of antiques. It even has the same BS factor. Case in point. A preacher walks into the store on tonight's episode and announces that he wants a nice gun for Cowboy action shooting. The owner after showing him a nice display of current Colt single actions in all three barrel lengths tells him that what he really needs is a made from scratch single action, that he can produce for a mere $10,000. Instead of saying, "well that sounds nice but how much are these Colts ?", the preacher buys into the deal. Later in the show, the owners surgically- enhanced wife and shop business manager, berates her husband (this is a recurring theme of the show) for selling the custom gun too cheaply. She produces what appears to be a new Colt SAA without any embellishment and asks her husband what they sell the Colt for. He replies, "$15,000". She then wants to know how he can make a custom gun for $5,000 less than a factory made gun. I want to know how they can get $15,000 for a $1,500 Colt.

As mentioned about the ad for the USFA gun above, where do they come up with this stuff? Don't they know that most of the folks watching the show know that a new Colt SAA doesn't cost $15,000. By the way, the made from scratch custom Single Action, when "finished", looked a lot like a Ruger to me.
