I am thinking of purchasing a Uberti Schofield and am wondering if there are any customization options if I order it from the manufacturer. I want the 2nd model with the 7" barrel in Nickle plating with the Russian trigger spur. Admittedly I am completely ignorant as to how these things work. This would be my first pistol. In my logic they should be able to fulfill my request because they produce all of the parts themselves. In reality I just want that super cool trigger guard from the Russian model in stead of the standard trigger guard. That doesn't sound too difficult to me. What do you guys think? Would this be possible through Uberti? Is there an easier way to do this? Or is it just impossible to have this done without having both guns and mixing the parts? Thanks!!!!

'Frankenguns' may be popular - but they're not historically accurate representations, and those spur triggerguards didn't find their way on to a Schofield.

Buy a nickelled Uberti 3d Model Russian, instead.

You'll be money ahead, and the weapon will likely feel more ergonomic to your hand, as well.

Uberti does not have a mechanism in place to order custom guns.   This is what they offer:  http://www.uberti.com/firearms/top_break.php

Easiest route is to order the nickle plated Russian as St. George stated.

The hard route:  Order a Schofield and then go to VTI  and order the Russian trigger guard.

Have you handled both frames?  The Russian frame and the Schofield frame have a very different feel to them.

Uberti exports very few nickel top breaks.  Contact one of the import houses (Cimarron, Navy Arms, Taylor, etc...) for details.  You might be better off ordering a blued revolver, modify it, then get it nickel plated.

The gun you are seeking would be a "Frankengun".

Thanks guys. That's kinda what I figured, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Looks like I'm probably going for the russian model then. It's a shame, I really like that 7" barrel.

You won't notice a difference in handling.
