Has anyone used the Lee 340 grain bullet in the .45-60?  How does it work?  Thanks!

I bought the mould, but havn't tried any yet. I have tried the Lyman 330 gr Gould Express though, and they shoot just fine. Both are very similar, except for the hollow point.

Thanks!  Let me know how they shoot, whether the crimping groove is in the right place, etc.

I have had good luck with it in my 84 Springfield trap door.  48 gr. 2f.

Can't say about the Lee 340 grain bullet, but the RCBS 350 grain bullet works very well in my Chaparell .45-60 with 60 grains of GOEX 2Fg as does the Lee 405 HB with 55 grains of 2Fg or Pinacle.
Listen!  Do you hear that?  The roar of Cannons and the screams of the dying.  Ahh!  Music to my ears.

Had a chance (finally) to chrono my loads.  340 gr Lee with 20.0 gr of 5477, no filler, Jamison Brass, Win std LRP,  OAL 2.249.  Avg velocity 1183.60 fps.  3 shot group at 50 yards had all three touching.   Fired from Chappy with a 28" bbl.  Vernier tang sight Lyman 17A front.  All fired from a bench.

Shot 292 gr Lyman with 23.0 gr of 5477 avg. vel. 1250 and it looked as if I was using a shotgun (did keep 5 rnds on the 10" paper plate)

Going to try and repeat the 340 loads and try at 100 yrds
