DUKE DEADEYE NUKEM

Here's the first one that just arrived yesterday.

Not totally in love with this system.
These fenders, tapaderos and straps need to be taken of and thrown in the bath tub for an hour and set up on a saddle rack with a broom stick.
Naw, I think I'll make up a fender stretcher like Weavers sells.  ;)

Hey Duke Nice looking saddle. That swell cover rigging is a neat design. Kieth Siedel is the only other guy that I have seen do this.

That left hand stirrup is still on backwards.... I would be calling them and asking for some comp!.... probly won't be too hard to fix yourself, but it is backwards... Not the stirrup obviously, but the fender is twisted backwards, it needs to be the other way, (twisted back towards the rider) Even the hobble strap is backwards... you can't ride it like that or it will blow out your knee.

I have to brand calves today, but when I get back I can take some pics for you and try to help you get that straighted out if you like.

I know what your saying. That's some sorta new fangled way to point the stirrups in the correct direction. I've seen this done buy a couple other saddle manufacture's. There is a twist in the leather and then the wrap it with another piece 3 inches wide and lace the two edges together. I'll fix it. This is why I'm going to build my own. Well....if I can get all my wood working projects done.  ;)

Should look like this.....

Here's what I used to ride and had several of in the early "90's" by Crates.
They don't use a leather twisty thing either. The stirrups aren't pointed in the correct direction when you pull them out of the box.  ;)
