What might there be in finishes over Fiebings alky based dyes?  This goes to finishing holsters, belts, maybe it doesn't matter what brand of dyes one uses?.  Thanks, Bill

tEN wOLVES has it!!
I like Fiebings Tan Kote, I swab it on pretty heavy so as to fill any low spots and right away wipe it off with a clean lint free rag(old T-shirt). This seems wasteful but leaves a very thin coat of finish without any splotches or runs and after 2 or three coats like that a nice glow is left and I get little or no stain rub off.

Many ways to skin that old cat!!!  ;)

I use a home-made brew which I picked up from Dwight, I believe. 3 parts by weight.  1 part beeswax, 1 part parrafin wax (canning wax)  1 part neatsfoot oil.  Rub it on jus like polishing a shoe.  HEAT THE LEATHER UP A BIT WITH A HAIR DRYER AND LET THE MIXTURE MIGRATE INTO THE LEATHER AND LET SET.  after a few minutes, buff it out.  DO THIS EVER-SO-OFTEN THAT YOU FEEL IT NEEDS IT. Ain't to often. The great part about this concoction is that it is waterproof, isn't shiny, won't crack, won't make dye run and is cheap to make.  Melt all three on the stove and pour into a kiwi wax can or whatever.  Semper-fi             Mike

I use leather balm with atom wax. Makes a nice shiny finish,......
