I've always shot .36 and I love my Pietta Remmie 58 "Navy".  I've been looking for a used NMA - like I really need another pistol!   ;D  I figured the Navy could use a Big Brother though.  But . . . in my searching, I ran across a quote, "used" - actually NIB Pietta Stainless Steel NMA - unshot and in the box with all the papers, etc.  At $200 I felt it was a "no brainer" - especially when Cabelas has the identical pistol on sale at $369.99.  I looked at the photos the guy sent me and told him I'd take it and pick it up this next week.  Now for a couple of questions on it.

1.  Are these acutally "stainless steel" or are they highly polished steel?  This is going to be a shooter and I figured that even though I've never owned a SS before - clean up should be better?
2.  What ball size does this Pietta like best?
3.  I'll be shooting Goex 3F (real BP) - for those of you that have one of these, what's the best load grain wise?

I will also have to admit that I am looking forward to "stepping up" to the 44 Army caliber.  So much so that in the weak moment of buying this NMA, I also bought a "used" NIB Euroams Rogers & Spencer!  Just couldn't help myself . . and the price was too good to pass up!   ;D

Thanks for any input/advice!  Greatly appreciated!   :)

Hi Bed Bug, . . . I do not have, have not handled or shot, and of the Stainless Steel Piettas.  I presume they are really Stainless Steel as I've never heard anything contrary to that.  For $ 200..... BUY IT !  :)   I use .457 dia balls in all my .44 cap & ball pistols. Shaves a nice ring of lead when ya push 'em in.   Working good for me.

Good shootin' . . . .  :)

Beware the man with one gun, he probably knows how to use it.

It's stainless steel.  What you have to be careful of is that the NMA's were also made "in the white."  If you have the box and it says stainless, you should be OK.
