Many makers these days use epoxy for guards and handles. Soldering was the way we did it back when but with the new generation of adhesives out there I just can't see any reason to go through the hassle of soldering anymore.

I only ever did one antler and the knife was just a pakistan blade, but i did learn you have to leave space for the epoxy to expand. It was a huge muley antler and i used way to much of it.I cringed when i cut it and my buddy took the other side,he said you ain't cuttin this one..His house is covered in antler sheds ;D

That knife I did above,...I bought the blade blank from a shop in Texas,.....is good steel crap it was like 80$!

The deer antler I made for a friend of mine who hunted all year with me,.I killed a nice buck and he didn;t,..but we had such a blast hunting together that year,..i took the antler and made him that knife to remember the year.

Good job on all the others guys......and thanks for the compliments.

WC it is definitely a keeper. I showed it to my son and said one day this will be yours. Remember it was made by a great guy just for your dad, and take real good care of it when the time comes. He hates for me to talk that way, but some stories just need telling.

JD, I agree that is a keeper to be handed down ... Beautiful job from steel to leather.

The above statement really hits a cord with me.  Back in the dark ages, 1963 I bought two Randall knives ... One for my Father and one for Myself.  Mine got left in a foriegn country and my Father carried his every year until 1986 when he passed away.  I went to his house to get the knife from my step mother and she informed me she gave it too a guy she knew ... I was sick.

A few years later I heard this song and I admit the tears began to flow, to this day it hits my heart strings.

KT, that knife is another good one. Ned does nice work. The boot sheath is cool with the spoon handle for a clip.

2W, thanks for the video. Good song.
