SWEET!!!  Hoof does some awesome work.   ;D
A lot of what is taken for engineering fact, if you dig into it far enough, is often just someone's opinion.

Dakota Ike

Very very nice.  Good looking holster too.

That looks great.  I didn't know Kirst made cylinders for .357 size bores.

That's what I was wondering.  The OP said the barrel was sleeved to .357.  The Kirst cylinders I have are bored straight through for shooting .375" outside lubed bullets (or hollow base bullets).  R&D use to make cylinders for .357 or .375 bores but I didn't think Kirst had ever done that.

They work fine though.......
If you do the math you'll see that the base of the bullet is still in the case when the ogive enters the forcing cone. Might not win a bullseye match but it'll shoot as good as a factory built pistol ;)

I love that holster! Does it follow an original, or is it a practical solution to an everyday problem?  Mind if I copy it?

Gary
They are OEM Black Hills 38 Long Colt .... shot it today at 7 yards ...6" -7" High and Centered
I punched paper with 20 rounds this morning, before I had to go to Benefit.
I held low centered @ the cross bar and hit the X circle  16 out the 20  ( about 3" )

That's good enough !  I'm HAPPY

Sir Charles

The Holster is the work of Ray Hanchett "Bluesman" he made it for his 7 1/2 " 51 Richards & Mason.
I traded with him about 6 years ago for the gun and the Holster came with....

That gun now has a Longhunter Action Job & has been shortened to 5 1/2"  and has this Holster my design, carried out by Ray
I was going for this look...

To my knowledge there is no copyright
