Capt. Montgomery Little

Just picked up a book by Greenhill Press and compiled by John P. Langellier on the above topic.  Great source for period uniforms with lots of pics. It can be noted that the US post CW cavalry was no better off than the CSA troopers of the CW. Both had to make due with what was available. For the US troopers that meant a mingled outfirt of equipement from 1860-1902. One pic shows an issued kepi from 1860s on a uniform from 1880s. Nothing cut and dried for these boys, not even in garrison.  Small book of 100+ pics on 72 pages but great resource as they are either actual photos or illustrations from official Army publications. Between this book and my copy of Mystic Warriors of the Plains, I feel well-armed for any IW "stitch nazis" I should ever encounter. Glad there aren't any in NCOWS.
