Built this some time ago when Navy Arms had plenty of parts and you could call up and talk to a (real) parts guy.......... It proved to be one of my best shooters.  You sort of aim it generally at the target and the bullet just naturally hits it!  44/40 of course along with some of my other homemades.  I may be the only guy around who shot himself with the Baby Pat!  Bill

See if this is a little better.  As you can probably tell, steel frame.  Started engraving, but haven't finished.  I gotta be in a real state of Nirvana to concentrate on engraving........or on Ridalin.  Most of my building is done the old fashioned way, a lot of files!  Saw my first Henry in the Smithsonian long ago....the presentation Henry made for President Lincoln.  Decided I had to have one.  Saw the Baby Paterson there too, same reaction.  Was lucky enough to find a Baby cylinder, and built the gun around it.

I want straight side on photos, please.  ;)

How 'bout this, or these.  Yep, one day soon I'll get back to work on it.  Sometimes I get  ahead of myself, eager to see if it works.  Had, too, I think, a great piece of wood.  My 'picture' is from mythological story which was in an old shotgun magazine from way back.....will get back to this too.  Just one of many projects!

Very,very nice. I'm itching for a Henry but first I'd like a '66 for CAS. If I ever get me a Henry I think I want a .44-40.
All you need is love and a .45

Thanks for the kind remarks.  I've often thought, if I could keep only one gun, this would be it.  I suppose the main objection, originally, was the rather time consuming reload function.  Perhaps, too, a rather 'wimpy' round, by later standards.  The 44-40 offers no felt recoil....at least to me, and I guess a lot of guys load with BP, haven't tried that yet.
