Just got the latest issue of Guns of the Old West. The Patterson revolver had the most beautiful fire blue finish I have ever seen. Ever better news was that Raven's Roost had a hand in it.
A work in progress.

Texican Ranger,
You are going to have to help us out here... I have been looking for that magazine since Raven mentioned it.  Your post is much too cryptic, please tell us what you are talking about.

What role? What feature or process?

Mako

I believe Texican Ranger is speaking of the New issue of Guns of the Old West

Dennis Adler's article is on the new America Remembers cased Paterson with a 12 inch spare barrel.
We (Kirst Company) have the contract to do the Charcoal Bluing and Bone Colorcase.

I understand that Fire Blue is not as durable as charcoal blue, but you made it look better than anything else in that issue. 8)

My error Mako, I just bought the Spring issue of GOTOW and the Patterson was on the cover.
A work in progress.

Howdy

Am I being too much of a school marm to mention there is only one T in Paterson? Yes, it is pronounced as if it were Patterson, but there is only one T.

Paterson NJ was one of the first industrial areas in the US. The Great Falls of the Passaic River were harnessed for power and its proximity to the growing city of New York made Paterson an ideal place to locate many mills and factories. Eventually Paterson became known as the Silk City because of the large number of textile mills located there making textiles specifically from silk. Locomotives and firearms were also produced in Paterson.

I only know this because I grew up in NJ and my grandfather was in the silk business.

Colt located his first factory, in Paterson because of the water power. When his Patent Arms Company failed in 1842 he eventually bought property along the Connecticut River in Hartford for his next venture.
That's bad business! How long do you think I'd stay in operation if it cost me money every time I pulled a job? If he'd pay me that much to stop robbing him, I'd stop robbing him.

Ya probably inherited every penny ya got!

Just got my copy of GOTOW

The photos don't do the finish justice. The gun is way prettyer in person!

For a more authentic casing, check out the Patersons on our site

I noted there are no prices on the website for the guns.  Is this a case of, "If you have to ask how much it costs, you can't afford it" ?
