The Library of Congress has several Civil War photos, in collections for viewing on line.  They have an interesting explanation right now on one of their pages onhow photos of the time period were "photoshopped" with available techonology of the time period.  The one they show is of Grant on horse back. Grants head on someone else's body.Celeste
