If the rules state that ammunition must be carried at or below the bellybutton how come I see guys with shotshell bras hiked up to their chests? I know bandoleers are legal but just curious about carrying extra shotshells if I don't want to use my gunbelt.

I'm a little confused about what you are asking for your own carry but the answer to your question is because no one calls them on it.  You won't see it amongst the "top" shooters because people pay more attention to what they are doing and they don't want any reason to get disqualified.  They don't call them on people who aren't top shooters because they it obviously isn't providing them with and advantage.

Yeah still against the rules and they should still enforce all the rules but they don't.

My shotgun belt sits just at my belly button but really higher than I wold like it.  It refuses to stay lower on my hips though.

Thank you. I'd like to have a shotshell belt just a little above my belly button. Getting stuf together right now and hope to make my first shoot in March. As for your placement of a shotshell belt, I never thought I'd ever be jealous of a ammunition belt until now.............. ;D

I have tried umpteen shotgun belts and despised them all each and every one. Just too daddang uncomfortable.

Now my Tupelo Bando on the other hand is very comfortable, quite fast and just what the doctor ordered.

Mine keeps creeping up because there are a couple of disks in the back that feel soooo much better when the pressure is applied to them :-[  Actually as I gain a (ahem) "Mature" figure, a lower position has advantages since the shells are then angled out a bit more ;D

I have been using a slide that holds 6 shells and wearing it on my gunbelt.  I hate it >:(

I ain't big enough around to get more shells on my belt and have had to fish shells out of my pockets too many times for thos stages that require more than 6 (yeah I miss now and then)

I made myself a bandoleir so will see how that goes but in practice is is working out pretty well.  Just don't know that a shotgun belt would work as well but will have to try a couple out.
