Me too! ;D

John, as long as your around, I was wondering if you have tried the new GOEX product called Reenactor BP?  I notice that they don't list Cowboy anymore on their website.  Only two types.

Hi All,
Since I have such an agust group of gentleman ;D handy I would like to ask you all two questions. First, do you know who uses the VP in a circle as a proof mark?
Second, how come people can shoot a 44 WCF revolver with a 1:16 twist and get pheonaminal (SP?) accuracy while a rifle is built with a 1:36 twist to get good accuracy. I had a Winchester 92 that was rebarreled with a 1:22 twist that sprayed bullets both cast and jacketed no matter what velocity. I have just purched a new Winchester 92 with a 1:36 twist that shoots the same loads as above very accurately. I'm confused (which is not hard to be at my age ???). Thanks for any answers.

Jubel, that is a manufacturer's mark and I don't know who.  Here are the Italian Proof Marks and other manufacturer's marks ...

Grizzly, been awhile since I stopped in ... anyway, No on the Reenactor Goex Powder.
I could rant real easily about Hodgdon and their Goex things their doing.  Let's just say, Hodgdon is chasing the money trail with the Blue & Gray folks.  Theirs approximately 50,000 reenactors of all types that need just a powder that smokes.  So Goex is using non sporting powder, probably in the F size.

If you are in the market for a real Fg powder ... the new 2010 lot of KIK in all their grades is gonna be the Go To powder for the BPCR folks.  Me included.  Because I'm impressed with it's quality based on the testing I've done so far.  How's 40 rounds of 1.5Fg and FFg KIK shot from a 38-55 starting at the Rams (500m) and working down to the Chickens with no degradation in accuracy and the bore was never blow tubed or patched!  And here's the 4 cotton balls that cleaned the foul after 40 shots, one wet and 3 dry ...

As you can see, really not much foul for 40 rounds!  Might say, the new KIK powder 'burns clean', if there is such a thing with black powder - which there isn't

Impressive!  I am going to have to try some KIK in my 45-60 and 45-75.  Thanks for the post. :)

I used to play the CW/living history game, and for the most part, most of those folks have never fired anything but blanks, and don't seem to have any interest in shooting at all.  On the other hand, they will fret and whine over the number of stitches in a uniform seam!  That said, they are a large hobby and they spend a lot of money.

Griz, forgot to add:
Hodgdon has also discontinued Express and Cartridge in addition to Cowboy.  They say they have a new 'improved' powder that will be available in January 2012.  There are many BPCR teed off with the discontinuance of CTG and Express.  CTG is the only Goex powder that has shot well for me.  So I went to my local reloading supplier, for real -  he sells out of a chicken coop,  ;D and cleaned out all the CTG Gene had in the magazine
