I find that 70% rubbing alcohol aka isopropyl alcohol works best...

Bob, I followed Chucks suggestion on the isopropyl alcohol , and it works fine, you just need to fool with it to get the consistency you're looking for, if you're going to use a spritzer bottle, you will want to thin the Tan- Kote so that it will spritz, I forget what combination I used or I would post it,  just thin it out till it's right for you, you'll want to mix it well each time you add alcohol.

Thanx pards.
I will use it with a spray bottle so I can get it easy in the holsters
and a even cote on the out side.

To keep the spray bottle working right - after each use pull the spray head out and let the tube drain, pour some plain alcohol into a small container, stick the tube in the alcohol and pump the sprayer until the head is clean of all the Tan Kote or Bag Kote, other wise over time it will clog up.

Tanx for the tip Chuck. Its bad that we dont have Bag-Kote in Sweden.
It seems easyer to cut.
But I'm going to by rubbing alcohol today.

It is much easier to thin out Bob, but you can get close to the same result using Tan Kote.

You can get it at most Tandy stores or any Leather craft store, or directly, Bag coat is not for sale in California, but you can get Tan Kote.

Most all leather suppliers carry one or both:
Here's a place that has both - Thye are excellent people to deal with and their prices are normally cheaper than others
Suggestion - get a 4 oz bottle of both and try them to see what you like - Bag Kote gives a more satin finish and Tan Kote a shinier finish. I keep both on hand......

Chuck, in your DVD you recommend thinning Bag Kote with distilled water, up to 20%. Above, you mention rubbing alcohol. If either can be used, which do you prefer and why?

Skeet, the isopropyl alcohol is used to thin the Tan-Kote, if I remember right Chuck did some testing and found that he got better results using the isopropyl alcohol when thinning Tan Kote, and was able to almost get the effect of Bag Kote this way, I thin my Bag Kote with distilled water. I forget the ratio, I think it was four parts Bag Kote  to one part water maybe Chuck will chime in here on this.

10W, I've tried diluting Bag Kote with up to 40% distilled water. At that dilution, the Bag Kote doesn't seem to work; rain will make a mark on the leather. Maybe you've had better luck.

Also hoping Chuck will jump back in here.....

Bag Kote can only be diluted up to 20% with water per the manufacturer...

That's it Chuck, I thought my figures were wrong, thanks for coming in on this and making it clear, it's been a while since I've had to make any more, the Bag Kote   diluted up to 20% with water works great in a spritzer bottle.
