Hi there,

Was wondering what you might be able to tell be about the following carbine:

Model 1865 Spencer Carbine by Burnside - Serial #29769

Thanks a bunch.

Sorry nactorman,

According to this section from the Marcot book, Spencer Repeating Firearms,  the Burnside Spencers were never used during the Civil War.

Your Burnside Spencer may have been sold to a European country or to the civilian market in the USA and travel to the American West.

Wow! That was quick. No problem. I had a feeling this one was probably post-war, but just wanted to check it out with the "folks in the know" here on the forum. Thanks again for all your (fast!) help.

Could you tell me when M1860 Spencer Arms 22" barreled carbine serial # 21024 was made and who issued to? It was later relined,
had cut off added and reissued to?
