This is the unit that Kirst Konvertors/Raven's Roost based their new 22 Drop In conversion on:

I took these pictures a month or so ago while at Raven's
I will let him come along and fill you in on the details of the conversion "unit"

The original had a full length barrel that screwed into the "block' and would have required individual fitting to each pistol.

It also had an ejector assembly.

I have never seen that type of conversion before. I like it, I want one!

The new Kirst is pretty close with some changes made to facilitate manufacturing processes.
I'll get some pics up next week, I hope......

This was a "tool room" conversion. Basically the story goes that there are/were three made by Remington but it was not a production item. It is chambered for 22 short, not long.

Raven

The story as I've heard it is that this converter was designed for the Army as a training aid.
There are currently 3 known to exist, 2 are owned by the person kind enough to loan the one we have in our shop.
The one in our shop has a serial number of 73 so maybe there are more out there to be found.

We elected to go with a non-breach loader because the ejector is very delicate as can be seen in the photos and the non-breach loader will work in standard revolvers without modification

Can't wait till you have them available Raven. Going to get one.

I knew Raven would come along and straighten me out (surprised it took so long). I knew I had the story a little confused, that's why I refrained in my first post ::)
