Hey ya'll! Here is my first try at a mexican loop sheath, all decked out in rawhide! The belt loop has rattlesnake overlays, and there is a lot of rawhide lace on the loops. The concho is wrought iron, and there is deerskin fringe, copper tacks, tin cones, horsehair, and antique trade beads.Got 12+ hours in the sheath alone! The bowie has an 11 3/4" damascus blade, elk antler handle with copper band and rawhide wraps, and the fittings are deep etched wrought iron. Thanks for lookin' ;D

John thats what I call a KNIFE. Its a biggie. Great design and leather work on the sheath. Handle is outstanding and nice piece of Damascus. I,d have you make me one but I would have to hire some one to carry it for me. KT :D ;D ;D :-[

Even if I were not totally-insane  about Damascus, this knife would be over the top!

I am hoping that either this is a personal knife or that you get to wear it on your belt for a bit, 'Cause the oohs and aahs are going to fly ... and that is BEFORE you pull out all that gorgeous Damascus .... *S*
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

John, that whole package looks awesome! Did you make the damascus? The guard looks like damascus, is it wrought iron etched in the same solution as you would a damascus blade?

Beautiful, John. That damascus looks great. The sheath is very suitable. I like the M-loop design. Nice.

Thanks guys!Cliff, the damascus was forged by my friend Chad Nichols, and forged to shape by me.The guard is wrought iron, which has been deep etched in a 50/50 ferric chloride soulution for several hours.
