When I was making the West Texas holster I cut out a Law Dog too. Have not done that model before, now its on my top three list .. It was also the first time I made a rope edge. Think it was hard to get the right angle  :(.

Good job Bob and the rope edge looks really good, I haven't done a rope edge in a while but getting the angle does seem to be the trick, especially tricky in the curves.

If you don't mind me asking what of brand stamp is that you used around the edge? I have a customer wanting me to make a copy of an original Jockstrap holster and the original has a stamp like you used on the border. I see Tandy has one that looks close but didn't look exactly like that I didn't think.

Thanks for the info,

I don't know where to buy a pattern for one, I'm going to have to make it because I haven't seen a pattern for one like it. It's one that the front is a very wide loop with just a short T on the bottom. There are a couple very much like it in "Packing Iron" but the original one he showed me was at a gun show.

I've made a rig for this fellow before and at the last show he got me and took me over to the holster and asked if I could make it. The owner let us take a cell phone pic so I've got somewhat of a picture of it and it has that stamp but not with the seeder in between but rather they are intermingled facing each other. I was at Tandy yesterday and forgot to look for those stamps, luckily the fellow isn't in a big hurry for it.

Cant wait to see the result Cliff. I´ve got to make me a pattern for a Jockstrap, like the model.

Very nice, Bob. That rope stamping is fine. It's a good look on that in the dark color. Very cool.
