You missed out on a beautiful Colt 1st Gen SAA that was fitted with a Christy barrel and cylinder for .22LR, Colt Lettering by Rudy Marek, Blue and Case Color Hardening by Dale Woody, and engraved with Gold Inlays in a Sears engraving pattern by Dale Woody in the early part of the 1990's.  She was a beauty!

Old Doc,

Sorry for delay in answer, I have been plowing my rear-end off.

Checked Grips were done by USFA Factory Grip maker.
Wonder if it's done in house or farmed out, like their case-hardening.

Apropos of nothing - since you're looking for a .22 - but back when 'Fast Draw' and 'Walk and Draw' were popular - one of the most-often used 'guns' was a 'Crosman .45' - a pellet gun.

It was full-sized, and the compressed air blast was enough to stop a timer.

You can still find these - even the predecessor made by 'P.Y.Hahn', since Crosman was somewhat loathe to put their name on it - and if the valve assembly's still good, they make a good trainer.

Vaya,
