Have you ever had one of those days?

I'm stacked up with projects I want to do, but today has been one of the most frustrating I've ever had working leather. I have made so many nOOb mistakes mistakes today than on any single day in memory. I'm working on a knife sheath for a Bowie, and started out the day by cutting two fronts, instead of a front and back. That wasn't that had, as I could cut the errant piece up for welts. It was directly down hill from there. The last screw up was riveting the back, without making allowance for a safety strap, which meant drilling out the copper rivets. I'm quitting for the day, going to enjoy a good brew, and think about the Franken-sheath tomorrow. Any other course would just lead to more mistakes. :(

Beauregard,

Sometimes a 'time out' can be the best and wisest thing to do .... I have a tendency to go very hypoglycemic when I am fixated on finishing something .... and the best thing I can do is to take the rest of the evening off, have a good brewski and enjoy a Western .....

The next day I am SO much more wise with my project ... *S*

TTFN,
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

Why just yesterday I cut '5' Cheyenne roll cantle binding strips for the same saddle.
I just couldn't get it right. Either to short, to wide, not wide enough yada yada yada...
Wasted a whole cow.  :'(
