finaly started a christmas project. it will be a small notebook. more pics to follow

finished toolling the project.

while doing this project i got thinking and added the leaves on left side.
just could not leave the left side blank. and spur of the moment i added the banner with name stamped.

this will be a journel / diary.

next on list tonite before i head to bed will be to apply saddle oil so it will be ready tomorrow for dye.
think im going to use saddle tan on it.

then will antique it with black fiebings antique paiste

the textured background was a afterthought and a very good oops remover. ;D

fingernails and wet leather do not go together well. ::)
also the banner is from a craftaid that has other types of banner outlines. this one just had to be in the middle of the plastic.
even though i was careful in where i put enough pressure on the craftaid to transfer the shape that i wanted, some of the others left light marks on leather as well.
easiest way to get rid of my oops marks was to texture the entire project.
antique will look good on this with the textured background and it also helps in hiding future scratches that may happen with use.......

Hey Leon, that all looks familiar! You are doing an awesome job with the skills you picked up from Chan Geer. I'd like to see it in person  one of these days. We really need to get together, only living 20 miles or so apart.

yep JD your right. in fact i used one of Chan Geer's pattern packs for the flower and leef design.

my door is allways open for you, i will keep the light on and a fresh pot of java for you.

thanks all.

i got color on it last nite and sealer. tonite i will do the antique black and trim it down to size will update pics.

will have finished by next week before christmas.
