Howdy Kid, I have not personally seen anyone shooting a Burgess and there aren't a whole lot of them out there yet simply because they haven't been available for too long.  Most people who buy them are doing so because it is different, not because it is a speed machine for competition.  However, the reports of folks shooting them that I have read have all been positive.  I have handled a new one and it was very nicely made and pretty smooth.  Now then, maybe some folks who actually own one will chime in  :)

I've had one for about 7 months now, it's in .44WCF.  I like it, but there is a learning curve, it feeld like a marlin action in a '92 frame.  (I know it's not, but that's the best way I can describe how it feels)  as for speed, well it's probably faster than the '92s and for sure the Winchester '94.  There's not many around and as far as slicking them up, don't know of anyone doing it yet.  It's a nice rifle (I have the 24" rifle) and fun to shoot.  It's expensive, for the same price you can get a good '66 or '73.  I wouldn't buy one as my only main match rifle.
