Changing a mainspring in a 75 Remington. HOW???

How do I change a main spring in a 75 Remington? I want to do this without having to go to a gunsmith.
specially cause the gunsmith in my town wouldn't know what to do with a Remington revolver.He's way more inclined to fix a glock than any kinda pre 1900 firearm.
