Tool supplier needed.

I came up with a need for a strap end punch in an in between size (1 7/8") and found that the one I need is cataloged by Osborne.  A quick search of all my outlet sources do not show this item and the last time I talked with Osborne direct, they were not very helpful at giving out this type information.  Does anyone know who is a complete source for Osborne tools and discounting would be a bonus point fer ya. 

Im thinking that when time presents itself a little better for me I will bring up punches as a topic.  I am finding that some of the fancy high end punches are not really designed to properly, or perhaps its my haid thet isnt right when I pick them up!!!!

Just a thought ...

I was making a holster which required a long punched out slot ... and the proper sized slot cutter was so big that it took to much force/did not make a good slot ... but made the straight sides really straight ...

So  .... I used the hole cutter and cut both ends out of the slot ... then used the punch to cut the straight sides ...

Since the slot you want is only bit longerthan the 1 1/2" Tandy slot cutter, perhaps you could punch out the end holes with a hole punch and use the slot cutter to do the middle of the slot?

I know that it is not the 'perfect world solutuion' that you would want, but it would get the holster done while you are waiting for that solution to appear ....

I may not following this??? but,.....I belive you are looking for an "End Punch" correct?? Not a oblong.. If so are you after an English piont or a round point???

All my catalogs list the large size at 1 3/4",2"... so I am assuming that the one punch is designed to cut from 1 3/4"-2"

Thanks guys, I had finally found a source BUT then Chuck came in with a nice savings for me through Campbell- Bosworth.  By the way, Mid Continent shows being out of business??  Freedom is correct, I was talking a round strap end punch.  A woodworking friend wants to share a project making the long slender cartridge blocks, his workmanship is beautiful BUT his size variation is more than I like.  A good fitting lid will require three punches and custom fitting for each block.

Something I hinted at this morning, the two styles of strap end punches being a forged one piece punch with the handle at the front of the point/arc (Weaver or Stohlman style) or the style with a split handle welded on about the center point (Craftool or Osborne) style.  Which do you prefer and why?  I now have several of the Weaver Master Tools punches and am not real  happy with them.  One must consciously keep the mallet strike in mind or get a poor cut angle, undercutting for me if the tool isnt tilted back.

I have one weaver, a couple from Osborne, and a couple more from Tandy. I guess I need to play with them a little, 'cause I haven't used any of them enough to notice a difference, but now you have me curious!
