Possibility of 1873 Winchester from USFA?

I've come across mention of USFA working on an 1873 Winchester, is there any truth to this?  I would love to own an 1873, but will not buy a Italian made clone, but would buy one from USFA in an instant!  The only other viable option would be to buy an original, which are quite expensive, and most that I have handled were somewhat loose, I'm not sure that I would shoot one.

Any other projects that USFA is working on that you may have heard of?  I sure wish that they would build those 1875 Remington revolvers, even if they put the USFA name on the barrel I would buy one.

I've heard the rumor about USFA building an 1873 Winchester replica for several years.  However, it's been only a rumor that I could find nothing to substantiate.  I'm with you - I'd be first in line with my money if they did make one.  My '73 Winchester is the only Italian built I still own.  Everything else is American built (USFA's, Marlins and Winchesters).  The next item on my list is one of the new Merwin Hulberts - they're supposed to start shipping in November.

Have heard the same rumor . Hope it becomes a fact . I would love to have a new AMERICAN made 1873 rifle in 44wcf .

The guy who makes the Redwing screwknives is working on making a '73.  I saw a picture of a frame that I'm told he had at the SASS convention, although I never heard anyone else mention anything about that.  If he does get them in production, it will likely not be high volume.

Maybe we should all send USFA an E Mail wanting to order one ? If there's enough interest $$$$$ they will consider it . It's worth a shot . ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I would like to have an American made 1873 rifle, just don't want to have to sell the house to afford anything from USFA.

USFA wasn't there though perhaps some of the higher ups were walking around.
