My New Ruger Sheriff's Model .44 Special

Found this at my local gun shop this morning, and did some quick "horse-tradin" to bring it home with me!  It's a New Model Vaquero Sheriff's Model in .44 Special...great size and balance!  Can't wait to shoot it!  Now I'll have to pick up the 4 5/8" NM Vaquero he had there to go along with it!

Took me awhile but it finally dawned on me that this model is basically a .44 spl Montado with a conventional hammer. The barrel length is the same as the Montado. 3.75 vs 3.5 inch for the usual SA sheriff's model. To me that extra 1/4 inch makes a big difference in balance. Might have to add one of these to the list.
