Beautiful!  The man does wonderful  work,  His lovely wife took a picture of it when I picked it up, now posted below.  Its the GAF medal in detailed bas-relief on his faux ivory grips.    My Artillery Colt is all set up for a Texas Bar-B-Q.

Wife just previewed the pic of Drydock's gun...not good. Apparently the flash went off also and with help of Sun, a washout!
She apologizes profusely and we will take a pic of the original set for display here. That should give Drydock the express pleasure of showing off his own gun/grips to all those he comes in contact with.

I am curious what you are going to use that gun for at a Texas bar-b-que. All you need there are fingers, good teeth and an empty belly. A cold beer would also help in digestion.

Here's a picture of the GAF grips

Pitspitr

I ever get me one of them Barby Q guns I'm gonna get GAF grips. Any plans to put the GAF emblem on the left grip so that a matched pair each has the the star on the outside?

(Sure was nice of somebody to put a cap over that fellows face...wonder if it was to keep the sun out of his eyes, or so we wouldn't hafta look at him ??? ::) ;D )

I believe your wishing has come true since I made a mold for both sides. I can also overlay the design on other grip styles for a few bucks extra.  The profile pic was my wife's idea. She got tired of looking through the 2009 Grand Muster pics and just picked one Mikey had taken at a monthly match.  I pulled the cap over my eyes to shade them while napping since I was the last man up on a posse of 20+.  She has already gotten a giggle from your post Col. Pitsptr. Thanks!

Captain Lee Bishop

Can they make them with the insignia on both sides in (yellow) aged ivory? If they can make them for Ruger NMVs, I'd buy two sets!

Capt. Montgomery Little

Capt. Lee,  Since the NM Vaquero has the same size grip as the Colts, yes we have them available. The antiqueing is left up to the customer since we cannot determine how "antique" you want them (we also include tips for the fitter on how to antique, fit and other things to enhance your grips.  Go to our website as posted by Col. Drydock and see what is available. The GAF grips aren't on their yet but pricing will be the same as our others.

US Scout

Just what I need, anothe pair of grips!  ;D

Now I'll probably have to buy a new pistol to go with them!  :o

Well done, Larry!

Capt. Montgomery Little

Thank you, Sir!  I would recommend a Pietta Great Western II with a 7.5" barrel for those long shots. I shall also endeavor to bring a few sets of these grips to the Grand Muster for those in dire need. I am working on 1911 grips with the GAF emblem  available on both sides and hope to have them completed by Sept.1.

Would someone please show me the proper military way of signing off on these posts. Military protocol was not my forte' while under the tutelege of USA. Much preferred EOD, HALO and LPC.

Capt., I need to get you a picture of the modern USCG seal andd it's precursor the Revenue Cutter Service/Revenue Cutter Marine.

I had thought grips like these would look real nice on a pair of conversions and I have 3 pair and working on a fourth!:)

It would be much better if you could get me a CG pin that could fit on a grip. I can then make a master mold of the insignia and use it to make master grips for a number of guns.

Roger that - please send me your mailing address.

I know that I can get a modern USCG pin.

I will have to do some work to get a USRCS/USRCM one.

Are they available for the Pocket Navy?
The first step of becoming a good shooter is knowing which end the bullet comes out of and being on the other end.

DC,  I have not checked as of today but I am almost certain that the grips are too small to accomodate the GAF  medallion.

I will be bringing a few sets for the Colts/clones and some for the 1911 to the Muster.

Delmonico

Very nice, I need me one of those -BQ guns sometime also.

The key to a really awesome Texas BBQ gun is to start with something that has character and dress it up. In other words put a set of these on the one you shoot now. It's cheaper(than buying a new gun), easier (than getting permission to buy a new gun...I know you guys. Your wives have something to say when you buy a new gun)and you can get them at the 2010 GAF Grand Muster (the grips...your not getting my longrange revolver no matter what). If, for some strange reason, you won't be there, just go to our website and get my email address and order a set (or two).  I plan to have my BBQ gun sporting a new set and shooting even better than it looks.
