Here are two 1st Model Richards fresh from the bench.

The engraved gun is a tribute to Last Stand at Saber River with Tom Seleck.
It was built for the Chisolm Trail Collection.
The gun was engraved in an L. D. Nimschke style by the very talented Dale Boster. Dale was tragically killed by a semi truck while riding his Harley shortly after engraving this gun.
The holster is hand crafted by Chisolm Trail Leather and is available at westernleatherholster.com
This gun with the addition of hand carved ivory grips and the holster will be featured in the winter edition of Guns of the Old West.

This revolver is un-engraved and was built for a private collector

Hope you enjoy!

Major 2

EYE CANDY  for sure ....

The 1860 is IMO the most beautiful hand gun ever designed, and the Type 1 conversion the best of looking of the conversions..again that's my humble opinion.

Jay your ingraved tribute piece is trully near priceless, being it was perhaps the last work of the late Dale Boster   :(

when planets align...do the deal !

Nice guns, wish I could see them with my own eyeballs. I'll trade ya my Cimarron '72 Open Top in 44 Spec/Colt, throw in all my empty 44 Spec and 44 Colt Starline brass and reloaded ammo, a pound of beef bacon, a bale of feshly baled Iowa oat straw, a gift certificate for breakfast for you and your wife at the McDonalds of your choice, and pay for all the shipping. How's that? But wait-if you act now I'll come shovel the snow off your driveway every other leap year on Febuary 29th for two consecutive leap years starting in the year 2020. Ya can't pass up on this deal. Let me know if yer interested, I'll even let ya call collect. ;D ::)

Hey Buckskin Billly,

They start at $1500 on the revolver you supply, I prefer Colt 2nd and 3rd generations. $500 and the revolver will secure your place in line.

Oh!  Crow Choker,

Throw in a good Horse, not one of those ready for the glue factory nags. and upgrade the breakfast to the local Tex-Mex place and maybe we can talk. ;D ;)

From the photos, the workmanship looks superb!

It would be unusual to see an original without a factory (roll) engraved cylinder scene...therefore, I must say the engraved revolver looks MUCH more authentic to my eyes.

yes i think the factory roll engraved cylinder scene would look good as well, but i would not kick either one of those out of my gun case for eating crackers. i could live happily ever after with out the roll engraving.
so raven is the second gun with out the engraving  a $1,500 gun? how long is the wait and do you need any real nice brain tanned buckskins? :D ;D

Both revolvers were built to customer specification hence no roll engraving on the unengraved gun.
They are chambered for .44 Colt

The $1500 price is the base price with out roll engraving. It is less expensive to produce a new cylinder in 4140 without roll engraving than it is to convert a low carbon steel percussion cylinder with the roll engraving. The addition of roll engraving is $125 and is still less than the cost of converting the percussion cylinder and you get a better (stronger)cylinder.

I currently have 4 guns in line, they will be done in the next month or so. When I started out (and during our move from Kalifornia) it was taking about 2 years to complete one. But I now have it down to less than a year and a half. It depends a lot on my production load at Kirst Konverter LLC. Walt and I are working real hard on speeding up production so that we can make more of the Historicaly correct firearms. We have been working hard on the Colt Thuer and Remington Thinplate projects as well.

The engraved gun will be featured in the winter edition of Guns of the Old West and I do expect that the line will get longer when the article comes out.

Thanks Guys

Harley Starr

Those are two fine sixguns Raven. Can't wait to see them featured in the winter issue of Guns of The Old West.
A work in progress.

Hey Raven, putting my ill-fated and fun attempt to trade ya out of one of those two guns or clones of them aside, they are really nice lookin' pieces of hardware. I've never been one to drool over engraved guns, esp those that have every square inch of metal 'carved up'. The one you had done is one where I would be happy as the "proverbial lark" to slide into a holster. Nice work, really "top-shelf"! ---------By the way-the offer is still there-did buy an old Remington single shot 22 LR one time from a friend for 'coon' huntin in a late night deal for $5.00, bale of straw, pound of beef bacon, and I can't remember what else way back in 1969. Lost the bolt for a while on a hunt one night thanks to Mr. Jubel Starbuck. Still have the gun.
