Hi, All:
I just acquired a Winchester 94AE, in 45LC. It appears to be new, unfired in the box, but without the papers. I am totaly unfimiliar with this gun, and would like to find out when it was manufactured. It appears to have been made a while ago, as it doesn't have a safety, as the new 94s do. The ser.# is 54676xx. Can anyone help with the date of mfgr.? The action seems realy stiff, and the trigger is heavy. I am sure a good cleaning out of the original grease and oils that it is packed in will help, but I have to find some dissasembly/assemply info, before I start. I would like to smooth it up a bit, and am going to look for some info, on how to do it. This is my first leaver action centerfire rifle, so I would appreciate any input, as to what should be done to this rifle, to make it competitive in CAS shooting, so that if I ever get all the things needed to shoot CAS. gathered up, I will be able to use it.
Thanks.
