Ottawa Creek Bill

This is a traditional hand sewn three hide dress I made this week for one of the Comanche women in our film. It is very plain as would be a dress worn everyday. This style came in after the two hide dress with the turned down tails that formed the yoke common from the early 1800's to around 1840-50. This dress above would have been worn from about 1860 up until the fully beaded yoke and back style dresses came into use, around 1890. More like what you see at modern pow wows today.

The bone hair pipe breast plate is a style worn by the women of several plains tribes including the Comanche as is the Dentalium shell choker. Dentalium shells were traded by some west coast tribes to those of the plains. The loomed belt is loomed with large beads, about 6 or 8 size, but not as big as pony beads....

This one may be for sale after the film....it will fit a female (or a Bierdache), up to 5' 8", and a waste up to 40". If fitted properly, it should fit loose, and not tight.

Do I want to know what a "Bierdache" is?

Bierdache - Traditional German spelling:  When you run to get the last one, i.e. - Beer Dash.

Google says "Did you mean berdache?" so I tried that. The definition for berdache (also called "Two-Spirit") fits correctly in this context so I'm guessing that this doesn't actually have anything to do with German Fuel Procurement.

Interestingly enough, the Wikipedia entry on "Steel Horse Bailey" states that a man with that name or nickname is rarely ever actually sorry for adding humor to or hijacking a thread on women's clothing.

It's amazing what you find on the internet.

Those were the men of the tribe that dressed and acted like women and had female traits. Do I need to go any further?

Nope, no further explanation required.

I can think of a few young ladies who would look abslotely stunning wearing this.
