Hello,

I bought a couple of RS-PM-1's from TOW.

It seems like I will have to grind or file down the sight base for it to clear the barrel. I honed it a bit with a stone, but it doesn't seem like near enough.
so
Any tips you can offer me will be greatly appreciated. I am just starting out in this light gunsmithing for myself and don't want to cause too much damage to the guns.

I have a Uberti rolling block and two Win 94's with the 3/8 dovetail. Thanks

Fer Bluejay...
I aint a gunsmith but I like ta tinker...

If it wuz mine (`n`I wish it were!! ;) ), I would clamp it in a vise using leather/aluminium pads and GENTLY dress the base of the sight   NOT THE DOVETAIL, with a diamond flat file, and after every few passes offer it up to the barrel `till it clears.

That is just my take on it, Up to you what you do, I accept NO responsiblilty if you decide to go ahead.

BTW.....Brill piccies!!!

Thank you Paladin. I had not thought of the diamond file. I will have to look around for one, or attempt to simulate it with something.

It sounds like the most important part is;
keep the tool flat
dress the base only - not the dovetail
check it every few passes
don't use a tool that is too aggressive

I understand it is "my baby"
