I read an article once-upon-a-time, about a central European concept of a hiking stick with a light utility axe head.  Great for mountain walking, camping, and defense.

Howdy KT,
Excellent! We do appreciate the opportunity to view all of your museum quality collection items.
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Thanks for the comments all! Sir Charles, you are correct! This stick is based on the European fokos, whick as you said was a walking or hiking stick with an axe head on the end.
KT, glad you are enjoying the items I am crafting for you. Nothing better than a satisfied client!

Apparently Hungary banned steel headed Fokos about 1920, so they were quickly replaced by brass.
