I made these straps as a practice piece. I used 4-6 oz leather and had no intention of using them. Well, the carving looked pretty good, so I ended up lining them with a like piece of leather, and making them usable. Problem is, they dont fit my boot, but they do fit on my wifes laceups.
There was no plan to stitch them, so the stitching is just in the groove of the bead line, which worked fine for the most part, until I got to the circular part at the end. There my stitch is very close to the edge in spots and looks a little off.
Oh well, its still a practice piece, just a usable one now.
