It is always amazing to me how many different styles of bowies where produced and at the same time how many things they had in common.
Of course that would make sense ,they are all bowies, but I am beginning to suspect that the term was used very liberaly.

And for those who like the Push Dagger style their are a few of those.

You will have to pardon the picture quality. they are in such a large format that it is very hard to scan them.

Enjoy

Thats one heck of a collection. Heres a wolf jaw bone knife. No pins in the handle. Its held in with pitch. Teeth are side filled with pitch also. Very solid . It was made buy the Souix. I really like this knife. I have to get a sheath made for it in the near future. KT
Cheer up things could be worse, sure enough I cheered up and they got worse.

Ned, I thought you might get a kick out of the Push Daggers.  The book is "Steel Canvas". Lots of pretty things in it.

Kid, That is a really nice example of an early style knife. I can almost hear it crying out for a fur trade era style rawhide sheath ;D

Well give yourself plenty of time cause it will keep your interest for a long while ;)

When I first got mine I thought it was only engraved guns but I soon found it to be much more.

That's what I thought too. I've seen lots of engraved guns over the years so I didn't get too excited about it.

Looks like no shop time today! Wait I'll read it in the shop, kill two birds with one stone so to speak! ;D

When i was watchin the Mountmen movie the indian he was fighting carried a knife like that.I asked my mountainman buddy about it and said i bet that had to be hell on the hand they probablt didn't carry any like that.He told me,oh yea, they would take the teeth out from the center and wrap that in rawhide to hold on to.I got a couple bear jaws here i should do up...
