Would just liek to take a moment and express my appreciation to Shotgun Steve for taking the time and trouble in sharing all those historic photos, guns and thoughts in his posts.  As a historian really appreciate his contribution and must insist this adds so much to this forum and hobby

In most fields of endeavor a few people, by their actions, stand out. Steve stands out here and makes this forum a more interesting place...!

Steve,

I really, really enjoy the pics you post ... and my second thought is usually, 'Damn, where does he find these things?'

Great detective work!
My moniker is my great grandfather's name. He served with the 2nd Florida Mounted Regiment in the Civil War. Afterward, he came home, packed his wife into a wagon, and was one of the first NorteAmericanos on the Frio River southwest of San Antonio ..... Kinda where present day Dilley is ...

Shotgun Steve,
How are the new boots working out now that you've had the summer to break them in? Would you've done anything else in hindsight?
Also, I miss your pictures. I just went back over all the pictures that you shared with us over the past couple of years. They were great.
Nice knife.

The time and effort you has spent researching and posting those photos is greatly appreciated indeed.

Steve,

Have you ever considered submitting a photo with some historical commentary to "The Shootist" for each issue?

We have many members who do not frequent this web forum, but I know they would enjoy sharing some of your vintage photography.
