Hi All,

What would be the most correct sight combination for a business rifle, circa 1878-9, actually for the last few years of operations. The Sellers book really doesn't seem to cover this in detail.

When did the Soule vernier become available?

Depends on what you want to do with it.  See page 212 and p 215 of Sellers and take a look in the old Sharps catalogs.  The sporting tang (first pic) would be a good hunter sight.  But I'd opt for the mid range vernier.

MVA #107 and 108 probably best bet for your rifle.  But if you have a BACO catalog there are options including, I believe the Sporting Tang.

The Soule appeared on the market in 1888....long after Sharps closed.
