Which Henry frame finish are you most partial to?

I personally like the color case hardened but want to buy a blued one.  The problem is the blued look black to me so I have not sprung for one yet.  I just keep looking.

Howdy

I went with case colored steel. I knew I wanted something different than the brass frame, and would have gone with blued steel, but case colored in 44-40 was on sale at the time at Dixie Gunworks for $200 off the normal price. My plan was to strip off the colors and blue the frame, but it is so pretty I just decided to leave it alone. It is unclear to me whether any original iron framed Henrys were ever case hardened, all the photos I have seen of them were blued, but there seems to be some evidence that at least some of the rare iron framed guns were case hardened, so I have decided to leave it be.

I made a trade for this gun new in the box around 25 years ago.  A couple of years after I bought it, I reworked the curves on the frame and rounded off the heal of the buttplate, so it looked like an early Henry.   I traded some leather work for the engraving and then antiqued it myself.  It can easily pass for the real thing.
