Geometric design, Colorado Crazy?

Hello, pards, A few days ago while perusing this site I saw a saddle with a geometric design that  I was told was called Colorado Crazy, It was an older dark leather saddle.I can't find it now... Anyway I am looking for that stamp. I have the same design on my saddle cantle of my Colorado Saddlery saddle and would like to make some saddle bags to match... I can not find it on Tandy, Does anyone have an idea of what I am talking about.  or am I  just a crazy colorado leather crafter.

I will tonight OK?  It looks like four oval loops... but that doesn't really explain it. . I will get a picture of it.

I can't find the thread with the saddle on it either.. I knew I should have said something when I saw it.

I come up with this one doing a search for Crazy Colorado Saddle. He calls a pattern crazy legs....

Thanks Dalton but that is not it.. I have the crazy leg stamp and that is not it.. this would be more of a box stamp but without the # sign in the middle of the stamp.    I am heading home now  and will get picts.

0kThis is the back of the cantle and the only place on the saddle that has this stamp. The saddle is a (I think)custom made 1960''ish by Colorado Denver Saddlery.

From the Tandy site. This is the closest I have seen.

Looking at mine, some careful file work might be able to make this a smooth faced stamp, without the star in the middle. You would probably have to file the entire face down smooth, and then add any ridge or detail after the fact. That or very carefully and tediously remove just the center part of the stamp, clear to the inner line border. This would just imprint the outer edge then, and leave the center high.

There are a few high end tool makers that make box stamps that might have that pattern. Wayne Jueschke, Barry King & Horse shoe Brand.

Thanks Guys! Dalton.. that is a close one and maybe the star in the center would add a little more to the pattern.. I really like the plain one though.
WC I have looked at Barry king tools, and I tried to look at Bob Beards.. but all of his tools are not pictured on his web. but I willlook up the others you suggested.. thanks!

It is kind of hard to tell from the picture... but I'll bet (with the proper layout and some practice) you could replicate the pattern pretty well with a veiner stamp... Might take a few practice pieces to get the layout lines right but it should be possible.

Since this is supposed to emulate overlapping circles, how about making a stamp out of a piece of thin wall tubing and just overlap the impressions?

Now that is a great idea. That would sure make the clean non-impressed areas for her.

I found the saddle on the thread  for Borders.. Pitspitr has a post of a simular pattern on an old saddle. He says its tool.. craftool g870
