Here are pictures of an Wells Fargo 1849 built in my shop.
Rocky Hays of oregon did the engraving and gold inlay. Everything else was done in house. We polished it, bone color cased the frame and hammer, charcoal blued the barrel and cylinder, Fire blued the small parts and built and lined the case. The case was copied from an original in the Dennis LeVett collection.

We try to do everything we can to provide a quality and affordable product.

It would require a redesign of the firing pin system from a staked in design to a pin retained by a screwed in retainer in order to colorcase them. Unfortunately the sales potential of the 49 does not warrent the extra cost involved or the higher retail price.
We made the effort to provide the 1851/60 converter with colorcase and ran into problems with the occasional firing pin coming loose. We have decided to go back to bluing the ring as the vast majority of our customers really don't care if it's colorcased. They are much more concerned that the converter is affordable.
We do have a stock of CC 1851 converters for those that must have a CC ring.
For those that must have a ring for the Walker, Dragoon or 49 Colorcased I can provide one on special order.

Great workmanship.  I have plans to build boxes for several of my single actions simlar to that (pairs).

Thanks for the great photos of such great work.
