Just Ordered: Rem/Baikal Coach Gun

I've just ordered what I think is a new Remington SPR-210 SxS Coach Gun with functional rabbit ear hammers and 20" barrels. CDNN has them for $339.99 and that seems to be a fair price to me. The only one I can find locally is $389.99 plus tax which puts it at $417.29! I'll get mine out the door for $372.

It comes with 4 choke tubes, has two triggers and auto safety that activates when the action is opened. Research makes me think that it is a variation of the TOZ-66 shotgun that Baikal has made for many years. The ones I've examined with the Remington name on them have been of very good quality and workmanship.

Does anyone else have one of these shotguns and what has been your experience with it? I hope to have mine by Friday but it could be Tuesday before I see it depending upon UPS. Can you tell I'm anxious to have it in my hot little hands?

Your going to like it, both of mine have better fit and finish than my ttn 1878. I dont know why remington dropped them they were the nicest for the price imo. You can disengage the auto safety very easily by taking the stock off.

I picked it up this afternoon and I'm very pleased with it. There's a fair amount of figure in the medium dark walnut stock and the fit of the barrels to the action is excellent. It opens smoothly and locks up tightly. The trigger pulls are very good too. It's a typical Baikal; not fancy but it's ruggedly functional and handles well in a workman kind of way. It's a lot of gun for the money. It should last a lifetime or three.

The auto setting safety isn't a problem as I've owned several Baikals before and pushing it forward has become almost automatic. Cocking the hammers will take a little getting used to.

Thanks. I haven't been here for a week so I'm a bit late replying. I do like the forend which is a semi-beavertail but much thinner than the Chinese hammer guns. A friend and I shot it last week and it performed perfectly. It's just like the numerous other Baikals I've owned: not fancy but of excellent quality and it WORKS as it should without any problems.
