I can't balieve Erma was mentioned round here.  I read that one when I was a kid an all I remember was the part where they told the kids not ta stick there hands out the car window cause they would fly off.  The rest of the trip the yougsters kept thinkin they saw hands flying by.  Oh, an there was somethin bout the dad havin ta take care of em himself an was tryin ta get the last bit of ketchup out of a bottle.  His boss called an one of the kids answered an said Dad can't come ta phone right now, he's busy hitting the bottle.  I have no idea why I remeber those things, I musta been 10 when I read it.

All my wife ever knew about housework, cooking, and kid raising she learned from reading Erma.

I was allowed to stay up an extra hour at night if I was reading.  I wasn't a big fan of going to bed so I read everything I could get my hands on.  Guess it worked.

I would say that you have retained a lot of thast reading. I got burned out on reading all outside reading assignments and the history text books in college. I am gradually easing back into reading  by starting out on fiction cop books.

Knowing how much you are into millitary history, check out an author named James Brady.  It's history, but his writing is not textbook style at all.  It'll suck you right in.

Thanks Leo, I'll have to check out Mr. Brady.  I've been doing some reasearch on Ol'927 AKA Diamond Lil. She was one of the first batches of B24's built. She was built in 1942 and she is the only B24A model in existence.

I remember Cavanaugh.  He came west from Appomatix.  I was reminded of this daily for quite some time.
