Well i like to collect cowboy stuff especially the vintage.I came across a white leather fringed jacket made by Jo-O-Kay of Oklahoma. The jacket has what i would call age stain,a bit of yellowing as it is white with bead work in the shape of horseshoes and cactus. The thing is it is not a dyed leather but sprayed on color.Too wet and rub too hard the color rubs off it is still pretty subtle not stiff. What experience does anyone have as far as cleaning.??????

I would say it was made early 50s but not real sure on that.Got a few beads to tightin also..

Howdy
Chances are is was vat dyed leather but because of it's age and not being taken care of the dye will rub off with a hard cleaning.
Not much you can do about it.

What would happen if i threw it in a tub of warm water with woolite?Kind of like w light nicotine stain but it doesn't hav a smell.More like it was hangin in a closet a long time.

But your right WC...

That jacket would match a shirt I got from my dad before he died.

Slowhand Bob

Rick, the coat appears to be mellowing evenly based on the photos so why not accept that?  It appears to be teetering on looking a natural light deer tan now.  The aging process will frequently result in what many consider a prettier look.  Perhaps just me but I really like what I see more so than I think I would a solid white look.

Rick, I have often washed my buckskin outfit in a regular wash machine but..... It will play heck with the beadwork. I mean seriously!!! :o  The other thing is you might get some shrinkage even handwashing in the woolite.
I have even heard of people having some success with the spray on upholstrey cleaners. Its taking a heck of a chance once again because it could spot the jacket real bad.
I think my vote goes with Slowhand. The jacket doesn't look bad and it is part of the natural aging.
Lost..... I ain't never been lost...... fearsome confused fer a month er two once... but I never been lost.

A little Korean lady runs my local dry cleaning / laundry.  She has a place in LA that she sends stuff to that does a marvelous job on leather and fur products, but you have to sign a statement that you won't hold them responsible if it gets screwed up.  I've been using her for years to get my leather cleaned and not one single complaint.  Not even too expensive.

I could ask her.
