Couldn't sleep and was browsing when I came across this site. It shows the props used in the "Wild Bunch" - so I guess it's "authentic" for Wild Bunch portrayal (even though the 1911 shoulder holster is WWII design) I was told by What Price Glory owner that there were no official WWI military shoulder holsters for the 1911 - if there were any shoulder holsters, they were custom made for the owner.

I am sure some of you have been to this site before, but if not, its pretty cool. I'm taking the author's word that they are authentic props used in the film.

Take a look and comment if you wish.

I posted this same post on the SASS Wire - for those who view both.

Did not want to spend lots and lots of money on a 1911 Wild Bunch rig, so I ordered some stuff from Pacific Canvas and Leather.  It is a great deal for the price.  Since I am new at posting photos, I will give it a try.

Thanks for looking.  Sorry for the gigantic pictures.

The shoulder rig is an M3 from Pacific Canvas ITEM CODE: #PCL-56-M3 PRICE: $34.90 and the holster is a 1912 Dismount Holster from Pacific Canvas, ITEM CODE: #PCL-13 DM PRICE: $49.90.  It attaches to the US Army M1904 Leather Garrison and Saber Belt $32 from What Price Glory, via a leather belt frog from Pacific Canvas, not pictured in the catalog, just describe and ask for it, about five bucks.

The Mag Pouch is a US Army M1912 Leather Eagle Snap Magazine Pouch for M1911 from What Price.Glory, authentic WWI copy, $29.00.  I wanted two, but they only had one and did not know when they would be getting more in.  I bought two 1911 Leather 2 Pocket Mag Pouches Plain, from Pacific Canvas, ITEM CODE: #PCL-39-L TAN PRICE: $14.90 each to be used instead, not pictured; not WWI authentic, but close enough and well made.

The knife is from Atlanta Cutlery Made by Windlass Steelcrafts® - Trench Fighting Knife ID#: 402534 Price: $59.95 (I paid $39.95 on sale), and I made the sheath from leather I had, free.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, one of the nearby gunshops has the Tanker or shoulder holster available. It's the other one I am thinking about. I'm still not sure how I want to wear a 1911. Short of a fobus.

I have been enjoying both the movie links today
