Last match I went to we shot the forestock of of my CIA import .Marked L12- SPM Lingong Factory China CAI Georgia VT
The wood blew out of the 2 blind hole screw plugs. I could probably repair it  mill it out and and add a new piece of hardwood.
I would like  to buy a new forestock rather than repair it .
Any idea as to where  or who  imported this gun and do they have parts.

Thanks

Ask over at the Sass classifieds, there is a feller selling some forearms for other rifles, but maybe he has shotgun ones too...?

Hi,

I am not sure exactly what blew out, but with boating products we would put a piece of duct tape over the outside and then fill in the piece with epoxy ... then once the epoxy had hardened throughout, the epoxy could be tooled pretty much like wood.

Until you can get a new forestock, this might keep you shooting your piece ....

Best of luck whichever way you go ....

I believe I have the same model shotgun. I have no idea if parts are available, but would guess unlikely.
I'd recommend repairing the existing wood with an epoxied wood plug.
You could strip & restain the stock & apply oil finish, too. Could even reshape the buttstock to have a round-knob look.

wellI dont have much in it this time.I traded it for a Jonny west and horse figure set. Its been passed around the block a few times. I have owned it twice. My shooting pard twice and GS worker  once he might have bought it new not sure.
Now that I have it again I finally spent the few hours to make the dern thing work. It  about had to be snaped over ya knee to open it after it was shot. Hulls needs to be pullled with vise grips. That all fixed now.
mosltly fun to shoot now. Back to what is broken. Their are 2 coarse thread screws that go into the wood. They also have thread inside of them for the metal screws that holds the steel plate that hooks to the barrel lug.
The 2 wood screw inserts tore out the wood on both ends the from one blew out the front towards the release and the other blew out into the lug  hole .

Hi Again,

I have a friend who has a reproducing mill that he uses to replace old Mauser and German WWII machine gun stocks ... he might be able to do you a new forestock if you sent him your old one.

But I am guessing that you would not want to invest any more money into this gun than you need to ...

But let me know by PM whether this is an option you would want to explore and I will get in touch with him ....

Can the bad/broken area of wood be squared up/ removed and a wood plug inserted? Next step would be to drill a hole for the threaded inserts to be pressed/glued in place.

Other option is to just fill the void with DEVCON (stiff epoxy) while placing the threaded inserts in place.

These seem to be your best options....

I have the same scatter gun.  Paid $189.99 in 2003 for it!  The barrel end nut on the fore-end stripped out on mine.  I used a TEE nut to repair mine.  You can find them at any hardware store.  It looks like a washer with two points on it and a threaded center.  It ain't pretty but it ain't awful either.  It will work until I find something better.

Good luck,
