Cowboy Mounted Shooting Holster

I just finished one of the heaviest and probly most challengeing holster I've done to date

This is one heavy holster.. almost 7/8" of leather at the seem ;

W&C 10oz body lined with genuine Horse Hide and the bucket is boardered with 4oz rawhide.

I have not used the horse hide before but I can say it is very nice to work with! Old Roaney would have been proud LOL

Yeah Bob, it is very firm..LOL ..

JD... I used my Tippman to sew this one. Some guys really hate the little machine but after learning to use it I have had good luck with it.  I actually use it more than I use my big 550lb Landis machine.

Great job! Very rugged with very nice workmanship! I made a rig for a mounted shooter a while back. They sure like that barrel forward cant. Thank for sharing this with us.

   Nice work Freedom, that's a great looking holster, and should last a life time the way you made it, I've made a few holsters out of 13/15 ounce saddle skirting, it's a little more of a challenge to work with, but it does produce a strong and sturdy holster. I'll have to try horse hide some time.

Man, as heavy as thaat thing is it had to have been a booger to get it rolled over nad sewn.

 Now that is my kind of holster.  Nothing fancy, just good solid workmanship. That ought to get the job done for a long time.
